Better than any other youth sport activity, baseball and softball have become the thread that has sewn together a patchwork of nations and cultures around the world. Children in diverse nations such as Israel, Jordan, Russia, Germany, Japan, Canada, Australia, Poland, Mexico, China, Venezuela, South Africa and the U.S. have discovered baseball and softball -- Little League Baseball and Softball - are ways to bring their people a sport that mirrors life itself.

Baseball and softball embody the discipline of teamwork. They challenge players toward perfection of physical skills and bring into play the excitement of tactics and strategy. The very nature of baseball and softball also teach that while every player eventually strikes out or is on the losing team, there is always another chance for success in the next at-bat or game.

Millions of children on six continents and scores of countries can attest that baseball, softball and Little League are synonymous. Little League is a heritage to be carried forward proudly in the future by ever increasing waves of those devoted to teaching children how to play and enjoy these great games.

Baseball and softball at Lake Air are organized into different leagues (or divisions) based on age in accordance with Little League rules.  Our leagues and teams are chartered annually with Little League International in Williamsport, PA., and we play according to their annually published rules and regulations.  A list of available leagues offered can be found under the Divisions link in the main menu.

Note: Ages in Little League are based on the approved age chart provided each year by Little League International.

The Little League Rule Book in electronic form can be accessed via Little League Online website link.

Each separate baseball league is adminstered by a League President, who is responsible for obtaining volunteer managers, supervising player registration, tryouts and draft as well as all matters of the league during the year.  This includes raffle sales, rules interpretation issues, medical release forms, maintaining league standings and even presentation of trophies at the end of the year plus many other things.  A list of League Presidents can be found under the Board tab on the main menu.

Registration for our league is open to all children within our boundary in North Waco.  Our league boundary is determined by Little League International.  A map of our boundary is posted in the main office and also can be found by clicking here.  In general, that boundary is bordered by Hwy 6 on the west, Franklin Avenue to the south, Brazos river on the east and Lake Waco on the north.

Registration is held each year in December and January and is either online or in-person for 3 weekends at the Lake Air fields. Registrations flyers are sent to all schools within our boundary, and the announcement is also posted in the newspaper and on our marquee on New Road.

Tryouts are held each year by age.  Volunteer managers select their teams via a new dispersal draft each year.

The spring season begins on April 6th this year and last until the last week of May, pending regular season playoffs.  A team championship and runner up is awarded for each league.

District 9 has a city championship tournament for many of the leagues beginning with Coach Pitch.  Lake Air sends the top 2 teams in the affected leagues to the tournament each year.

All-Star teams are selected for ages 10 and up, and participate in the Little League tournament by age group each summer.

The league provides a uniform shirt and hat for each child; parents are responsible for the remaining uniform.  The league provides a bag of equipment for each team which includes batting helmets and catching equipment.
